Final Assignment ( Second Blog )

I have always found it hard to write a paper and maybe thats why I chose to be an engineer. ( But thats a different story ) I never seem to be able to write the amount of pages necessary, not even the minimum. I am trying to find more information about Americans green path, but it seems as if Glades truly believes that we are doomed because we only have about two options. We either change our values and/or make companies responsible for making products that can be recycled, or we are doomed by our own goods. That is the reason why I believe America is headed to a disposable society! I decided to add a few comments to my paper concerning the fact that businesses have the mentality of screwing over their consumers in order to make money because they know the consumers will ultimately come back to them. It is sad to say that it is true, Americans prefer these disposable goods and see them as the best thing invented such as disposable razors and nylon pantyhose.
I also want to write about how Americans can not escape advertisement no matter where they are. It is all around us and there are some people who can not hear or see an ad without being sucked into it. It is sad to see that Americans have become so materialistic. Finally I want to add the point that America's electronic waste does not just hurt Americans but the whole world as well. We ship our garbage to other countries illegally and these countries scrap whatever they can with disregard for their well being. America was founded on better values and ideas and the time for change is now. America went through an industrial revolution in the 1800's but it must go through another industrial change as well, to limit its e-waste in order to save this plant. It is pretty ironic how we develop new technology to better mankind such as the invention of miniaturization, but it is this type of invention that is creating our downfall. So are we really advancing in technology, because what many see is the end of clean air and water.
